Park History

Ken Carpenter ParkKen Carpenter was a life-long resident of the Village who worked for the Public Works Department, serving as Superintendent of Streets. He died in February 2001 at the age of 29 after a five-year battle with Hodgkin’s disease. Big Sky Park was renamed in his memory in June 2002.
