Park History

LINDA K. FISCHER was a resident of Lake in the Hills for 32 years. During her residency she volunteered for many organizations including Lake in the Hills Women’s League, Boy Scout Troop 369, Lake in the Hills Historical Society, and the Miss Illinois Scholarship Association.

Linda also served as president of the Lake in the Hills Citizen’s Police Academy, was the Village’s first Information Officer, and  was named Outstanding Citizen. After receiving a heart transplant in 2000, she volunteered for the Gift of Hope organization, promoting organ donation in Illinois.

The park was dedicated to her memory on October 6, 2011, with family and friends in attendance.
