Senior Serenity Wednesdays

The Village of Lake in the Hills wants to welcome all seniors in the area to stop by Village Hall every Wednesday between 10am and 2pm for a relaxing time with friends.  In the Board Room, areas will be set up for friends to play board games, cards, bingo, Bunco, and more!  Computers will be available for you to check your e-mail or become familiar with the internet.  Once a month we will show a movie, and schedule an activity or speaker so feel free to bring a lunch or some snacks.  Registration is not required.

A $3,500 reduction in the assessed value of property. To qualify for this exemption a person must be 65 years of age or older during the taxable year for which application is made and must be the owner of record or person with equitable interest in the property.

Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption

You must have owned the property or had legal or equitable interest in the property, or had a leasehold interest in the residence, and be liable for the payment of property as your principal place of residents.  The Application must be made by July 1st.
