As Lake in the Hills has grown, so too has the police department. You will find in your review of the services available, that the Department has evolved into a full service Police Department that is comprised of one of the most professional and community-minded group of law enforcement professionals in the State of Illinois. 

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is a leader in McHenry County in the area of officer training. There are numerous benefits to providing constant and effective training. Through training, officers stay current in a field that is constantly changing.  It also reduces the department's liability exposure and increases the effectiveness of the employees. Training helps the department reduce crime and achieve its goals.  Officers are encouraged to seek higher education at all times either on their own or through the department.

The Village of Lake in the Hills Police Department Encourages Residents to Contact the Department With Comments or Complaints Regarding Traffic Violations in the Community.
