Basic Academy - College of DuPage Police Training Academy

Specialized training/certification in the following: Breath-Alcohol Testing; and Horizontal Nystagmus Gaze (HNG) Testing; Interviewing & Interrogations; Emergency Vehicle Operations Course; Juvenile Officer; Drugged Driver Detection; Domestic Violence; Cultural Diversity; and Police Motorcycle Operations.  Officer Shafer is also a motorcycle officer for the department.

Officer Shafer has been a sworn Police Officer with the Department since 1996.
