Specialized training/certification in the following: At Scene Accident Investigation; Criminal Patrol Drug Enforcement; Field training Officer; Overweight Truck Enforcement; Breath-Alcohol Testing; Interviewing & Interrogations; Emergency Vehicle Operations Course; Survival Spanish for Police Officers; Gang Enforcement Specialist; and Acting Patrol Officer In-Charge.

Sergeant Smith has been a sworn Police Officer with the Department since 1990. Previous experience as United States Army Communications Specialist and Counter Intelligence Special Agent.
