Trustee Yensen is the Executive Director of United Way of Central Kane County, Vice President of the McHenry County YMCA, a board member of the School District 158 Foundation, a National Operational Volunteer for Girl Scouts U.S.A.,  Public Policy Chair for the Huntley Area Branch of the American Association for University Women, a member of the McHenry County Defenders, and a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals. Trustee Yensen has served in leadership roles with numerous public service and governmental groups in Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. 

Trustee Yensen received her Ph.D. in Education with a minor in Urban Affairs and Family and Child Science from Michigan State University. As a graduate student, she received the Women in State Government Scholarship, based on academic excellence and community service. 
 

Trustee Yensen has two children, Jamie and Jason, and is married to Mike Bissett.
