Safety Town

Safety Town

The construction of Safety Town began on April 24, 2004. Volunteers came out to help build the little town that is located behind the Lake in the Hills Police Department Safety Education Center.  Safety Town has 4 blocks with 16 miniature buildings some of which include; Boulder Ridge Country Club, Dominick's, Northern Illinois Flight Center and the Police Department just to name a few.

Safety Town is an interactive program that teaches children ages 4-6 about various topics of safety. Topics included are household safety, poisons, fire safety, water safety, traffic safety, railroad safety, and many more. The program will be coordinated by the Department but taught by Police & Fire personnel and volunteer teens. There is no charge for participants.
