The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for McHenry County until 9 pm on Monday, July 27, with the peak heat index reaching up to 110 degrees. In response, the LITH Village Hall at 600 Harvest Gate is serving as a cooling center.

 

If visiting after business hours (8:30 am to 5 pm), call the police department's non-emergency number at 847-658-5676 and press "1" to speak to a dispatcher.

 

Please note that pets are only allowed if crated. Service animals are welcome.

 

The high heat and humidity could cause heat illnesses, so please drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun and in air-conditioning, and check on relatives and neighbors who may need assistance. Be safe.
