People for Parks Foundation
Funding is provided by the People for Parks Foundation, Lake in the Hills, Inc. The People for Parks Foundation has been raising money since 2008 to support the Lake in the Hills' Parks & Recreation programs and facilities. Their goal is to provide funds to purchase equipment, amenities, and to provide scholarships for program participants to those in need. Their funding comes from private donations, business sponsorships of events, board members, and volunteers pouring beer at Lake in the Hills Sunset Festival and their signature event, Pub in the Park.
In 2008, representatives from the Parks & Recreation Board, Village staff, residents, and elected officials formed this organization. Since that time, the People for Parks foundation has provided approximately 100 families with access to programs they could not otherwise afford. The scholarships have allowed residents to participate in programs have included Funtasticamp summer day camp, preschool, gymnastics, martial arts, sports programs, and more.
